The 2026 Internship Application Window is now closed. We are thrilled to have received over 760 applicants throughout all departments and are inspired by the exceptional talent and enthusiasm from all who applied.

We encourage those who are interested to apply next year, as internship opportunities for the 2027 season will open on November 1.

The Maria Mitchell Association internship program started in 1914 and since then has hosted over 650 interns!

Qualified undergraduates, recent graduates, and graduate students studying marine biology, the natural sciences, astronomy, education, non-profit development, history/art history/historic preservation, and communications and marketing are invited to apply.
