Nantucket Bank | Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation – Spring Discovery Scholarship

Thanks to the generous support of Nantucket Bank, a division of Rockland Trust, and the Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation, the Maria Mitchell Association is honored to offer this scholarship opportunity for eligible Nantucket residents. This initiative covers up to the full cost of participation in the Spring Break Kids’ Camp, ensuring that children can enjoy a range of fun, educational activities.

The Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation Spring Discovery Scholarship will enable island children the opportunity to enjoy this very popular camp and experience the joy of ‘learning by doing’ on our beautiful island. This scholarship is open to Nantucket children who may not have the opportunity to leave the island during April break. Preference will be given to those in need of financial assistance.

See below for the application and income limits.

Adam Bloom Scholarship Fund – Winter and Spring Discovery Programs

Thanks to the generosity of Susan and Howard Bloom, their family, friends, and others who have contributed funds to honor the memory of Adam Bloom, we are able to offer at least two full scholarships for each of our Winter (February) and Spring (April) vacation camps.

According to Sue and Howard Bloom, “Throughout Adam’s life, he had a keen interest in the world around him. He could often be found with his sister and friends, exploring the beaches and marshes throughout Nantucket looking for crabs, fish, and any other creatures they could find. His passion was inspired by his participation in many of the camp programs at the Maria Mitchell Association. As a child, Adam could be found continuing or repeating the activities that he learned to do at camp that day. He was a budding young naturalist.” The Adam Bloom Scholarship Fund will enable island children the opportunity to enjoy these very popular camps and experience the joy of ‘learning by doing’ on our beautiful island.
