The Nantucket Maria Mitchell Association (MMA) is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Camp & Youth Engagement Coordinator to advance the organization’s mission of supporting a life-long passion for science through education, research, and first-hand exploration of the sky, land, and sea of Nantucket Island.
The Camp & Youth Engagement Coordinator at Maria Mitchell Association will be an integral part of our team, serving as the secondary point of contact for our Discovery Camp program as well as planning, coordinating and facilitating educational summer camp programs in addition to youth engagement programs. Duties also include staff training, daily operations management, supervision and instructional support. This position offers a unique opportunity to foster and maintain relationships with campers, families and the community at large as well as develop and continue community and youth engagement after-school and special programs.

The Marine Science Research and Mentoring Secondary Research Associate at Maria Mitchell Association will be an integral part of our team, serving as the secondary point of contact for our Scallop Research and Mentoring Program. The role involves supporting the primary Research Assistant (RA) throughout the 10-week program from June 1 to August 20, 2025. Availability for the full 10 weeks is preferred, with the possibility of a 2-week pre-program and 1-week post-program commitment.
As the secondary RA, you will assist with research activities and step in to cover for the primary RA during any absences. This position is ideal for those seeking hands-on experience in marine research and fieldwork.ograms in addition to youth engagement programs.
