Introducing: Our Very Special Limited-Edition Heritage Placemats!

Visit the Maria Mitchell Association Gift Shop located in the Hinchman House Natural Science Museum on the corner of Milk and Vestal Street to purchase our newest and most exclusive item, Historic Nantucket Placemats! These placemats provide a glimpse into the old world of Nantucket and will complement any home. Proceeds will go directly to the Maria Mitchell Association to help us continue to serve the island community through our Aquarium, Observatories, Hinchman House Natural Science Museum, Historic Mitchell House, Research Center, award-winning programming, and so much more. 

There are two sets of four placemats (eight designs total) featuring archival images of Nantucket and the Maria Mitchell Association. Long-time MMA supporter, Missy Steiner-Griffiths, had the vision for these special keepsakes, and we are incredibly grateful to her for designing such unique placemats to benefit the MMA. These placemats are manufactured by the Pickering Company, a small business located in Castine, Maine. They spruce up any table setting and are perfect for everyday meals, dinner parties, or special occasions. Each placemat is unique and extremely durable with a high-quality cork backing for a non-slip dining experience.
