Birthday Parties at the MMA - Hinchman House Natural Science Museum

Host a one-of-a-kind birthday celebration at our nonprofit museum, where learning meets fun in an inspiring island setting!


For children turning 4 or older, when you book a birthday party at the Maria Mitchell Association, you can expect a fun-filled experience in scientific exploration and discovery.

  • 2-hour party experience on Saturdays, all year-round
  • Exclusive, STEAM themed program led by museum educators
  • Private access to our designated party space and tables
  • Up to 20 children (ages 4 and older) and 4 adults (1 chaperone per five kids required)
  • Dedicated museum staff for facilitation and animal ambassador greetings
  • Optional take-home activity or craft (add-on)

*Guests are responsible for setup, breakdown, and any decorating and refreshments. Alternative dates subject to availability.

June 15 - October 15 - $750, Members receive a 20% discount.

October 16 - June 14: $450, Members receive a 20% discount.

Refund Policy:

A non-refundable $100 deposit is required to secure your booking.
Full refunds less the deposit will be provided if you cancel at least 14 days in advance.
No refunds will be issued if cancellations are made within 14 days of the event.
